THE VISION

We believe immigrants and refugees regardless of gender, country of origin, age, sexual orientation, ability or religious belief have freedom to thrive and live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. We acknowledge and amplify the voice and stories of survivors of domestic violence and advocate for social and economic justice. We respect and honor culture through tolerance, understanding and empathy and create safe and inclusive spaces for growth, development and discourse. We empower refugees and immigrants to overcome barriers that limit their success by encouraging their personal and professional growth. We promote and encourage healthy relationships, community building, and community development through social engagement and positive community support systems.

THE MISSION

We promote peaceful, loving, and safe relationships within the diverse immigrant and refugee communities of San Diego. This is accomplished through services and strategies that build resilience and self-sufficiency, support healing from trauma and violence, and advocacy for equity and justice.

OUR TEAM

English Learning and Acculturation Classes

  • Learn English

  • Meet other new arrivals

  • Classes are held 4 times per week at our Afghan Program Office

  • Ask about Survival English for Newly Arrived (SENA)

Discover Support for our Newly Arrived Afghan Communities

Early Childhood Development Program

  • Weekly support groups for new and/or pregnant mothers two times per week

  • Learn about medical, mental and behavioral health

  • Learn about educational opportunities for your child to help your child grow and be healthy

  • Talk to one of our therapists about parenting techniques

Mental Health

  • Talk to a therapist in Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto or

  • Free mental health service

  • Healing activities for the whole family

  • For youths, women and men

Father2Child

  • Program for fathers to build healthy and positive relationship with their children

  • Opportunity to connect with other fathers
